This is a translated version of "Handbook: Supported Employment" by the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the World Association for Supported Employment (WASE) in 2014. Supported Employment focuses on their ability (what they can do) not the disability (what they cannot do), and supports both people with disabilities and employers. This has been developed not only in Japan but also in other countries around the world as a universal way of disability employment support. In this handbook, examples of efforts in other countries are introduced and it will be a reference for people who support "the rights for persons with disabilities to work equally with other people" as stated in the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

- Employment management of persons with intractable diseases (April 2018)(Japanese Link)
Through analysis etc. on situation of employment of persons with intractable diseases without Disability Certificate which is not subject to employment quota system for persons with disabilities, we have developed a employment management manual which aims to establish relation "that such persons can work without excessive difficulties," between persons with diseases or disabilities and employers.
In reference to recent social movement, we present many cases in which persons with intractable diseases actively work under possible supporting systems and under certain considerations although not subject to employment quota system for persons with disabilities.
For the issues which have been recognized in employment management of persons with intractable diseases such as "elimination of misunderstanding and prejudice to intractable diseases by employers / promotion of accurate images", "solution of practical issues at recruitment", "good communication at workplace / promotion of understanding and accommodation", "supports for leave and reinstatement", "measures for development of disorders", etc. , we have organized the issues from the viewpoints of employers and have made the points easier for employers utilize.
Observing the voices from the field of employment support that "they cannot make employment support for persons without Disability Certificate", we refer to practical techniques for support "under employment relation beneficial for both persons with intractable diseases and employers", and we hope these serve for supporting activities.
